A personal brand is what makes you unique and what value someone can get out of interacting with you or doing business.

Sure, people may be too obsessed with the term personal branding, but we need to thinking about how to create the most value for everyone. That value creation can be in the form of content, services performed, product offering, or even an engagement like right here on Medium.

The wonderful part of a personal brand is that it’s hard to build up, but is very flexible.

As you say, selling is an art form, but one key thing most salespeople miss out is active listening and truly understanding your customer. You may be the best talker around. If you don’t listen and really understand the customer’s needs so you can find a flexible solution, you’re finished before you can start.
